Penang Here We Come.

On this coming 15th, we (my friends and I) will be in Penang for our Makan² for the year. It's has been a while since our last vacation in Penang. So Penang, here we come, again! Haha.

We're still on quest searching for best hotel that can accomodate 3 of us, which one is best for price, location and also not-so-isolated hotel. Hehe.

I've short-listed 3 hotels, which are Dorsett Penang, Cititel and Berjaya Georgetown. We're looking for 4-stars and below kind of hotel.

So, any help? any suggestion? or another hotel maybe? Haha.

p/s: We all craving for CharKwayTeow, Pasembor and also Nasi Kandar. Huhu~~

Depending on whether you love which part of Penang and the food. Pick from the most fair price and enjoy your stay with us.

Berjaya has one stop, gurney plaza for the surrounding. Dont forgot to try the ikan trumbok in the malay restaurant in Kelawei Road.

Cititel is right on Penang Road. Lots of Penang Mamak stall and restaurant.

Dorsett, hotel is nice. But a little away from food. Be sure you have yr own transport.

nyonya pearl,

bunchy thanks for the info that you've provided.

I've consider Cititel for its location and also my previous experience for their hospitality.

I will try the food spots that you've mentioned. Thanks again!

Hmm if you drive then Dossert should be fine. But if you don't drive I suggest Cititel.

You can eat one of the best Thai foods just opposite Dossert and there is the biggest Kentucky Fried Chicken opposite the hotel too.

Cititel is in the middle of the town which you can walk to KOMTAR and Prangin Mall and just beside the hotel you can eat the best soup in town! Eat eat with the Bengali bread. Superb!

If you want to know some other 4-star hotels I'd also suggest Vistana as it's not far from airport and close to Bukit Jambul shopping complex. Not too far from Queensbay Mall too! Queensbay Mall is the biggest shopping mall in Penang at the moment. The foods are ok as you can't compared with the 5-star hotels! But I can guarantee you that the service is better than some 5-star hotels in Penang (this came out from my foreigner friend, not me as he stayed at EQ and Vistana and he made his own conclusion about the hospitality).

Another 4-star hotel that I'd suggest is Bayview Hotel. It's not far from Cititel. The food in the hotel is pretty good but since you want to dine outside food not really a matter right?

I wonder why you didn't check out some 4-star hotels near the beach? Pretty cool too.

Since you listed only 3 of them and I guess you just want us to suggest on the list given, I'd vote for Cititel.
